Listening to your track i would be interested to see what you would do if you started to get into a few more tunes like ramstein, only because you have that kind of feel in their genre of music...
The high pitched background mixed with vocals and electric guitar

try remixes or even a cover of a few of their songs... like the song bang bang

BurntOutOnlineMedia responds:

A cover of Feuer Frei you say? That could be pretty fun if I did it right.

Loved the darker feel to this song, even though it was repetitively in the cards that were used, it came out really well,

Starting the song off instantly though, was a little bit odd, so you might want to look into an, at least a 3 to 8 second warm up to the tune
To improve the quality I would add in more background sounds, might want to look into a modified bass or a double bass for that really low thud that could play with your snare

Keep going, would love to hear what you come out with next if this is the quality that you produce

Neovenetar responds:

Thank you very much!

I never really thought that much about the start of the song, I felt that having another two bars of the tune would make it just a little too repetitive. Though considering how the whole song is pretty much the same tune, maybe I should have made the intro longer.
I'll definitely keep the idea of more background sounds in mind for the next song I make though!

I don't know what you were doing with the song at about 0.21 to 0.32 but with the addition of that off beat electronic sound, it sounds like you clicked on the wrong synth in the pick from list :(

I can't pin down a beat for most of this song because you keep changing it from a 2 count, to a 6 count, then a 8 count, then a 4 count, then a 8 count which makes it incredibly hard to follow

If you want your genera, to start.... Id suggest getting a baseline in order first

Dear Tox:

Thank you for tuning in to my music and my art. I appreciate your willingness to share tips you think might improve my work. In this case, as in all of my tracks, I made all of the sounds you hear in fm8, so I didn't pick any from a list, and I believe that the sounds are correct for this mix, though of course, slightly deviant from a traditional mainstream production. To me, this is a good thing, and a way I can challenge others to expand their production vocabulary.

I'd also like to say that the structure and timing of this piece is a bit challenging as well. I arranged it purposefully, and made it somewhat of a musical joke that the section breaks off the way it does, and can't really explain this joke in words, which is why I did it in notes! Nonetheless, I believe that the beat and structure of this keeps the track engaging, and allows people to question and think about what they hear.

In this way, I would encourage you to hear and think about why I made these choices, and rather than how they can be changed to fit a more mainstream sound, allow yourself to discover new possibilities and new ideas in a collection of work that seeks to innovate and have lots and lots of fun with creativity. All the best to you, Tox!

Sincerely,
Jay

Really nice visual for this song.

I would have changed the track up differently at about one minute in with the break, because that could show a sad moment that is being remembered in the past
And I would have loved to hear you put in a happier ending to this song to show the acceptance of the events

Very well done

DaveMajor7 responds:

Thank you, I really appreciate the feedback.

The bass line has no variation
The chorus has no major deviation
And as soon as it hits 0.18 I'm already tired of the tune/ notes

not your best work by any stretch of the imagination

The more I listen the more I begin to giggle

a very good loop

Devastus responds:

A gift that keeps on giving.

Glad you like it!

Interesting song,
And in being so short it has its own qualities about the tune,

i liked the fear that you put into visual at about 0.28, really powerful with the offset of the bells

When the impossible happens, challenge your assumptions and the correct answers will flow
