just remember that lipsyncing is not the primary content that people come to an animation to expect, its just a small part of a greater idea that you are trying to convey

what lipsyncing is required when you make an animation about chopping wood, or what syncing is needed, sure if the idea that you are trying to convey is 2 people sitting down for coffee and talking then sure but generally lipsyncing is a small part of an animation, don't get discouraged!

I hope that you get a really high mark for that animation
the shadows that follow the characters and the light reflection is a nice touch to this

its also clever to use only 2 backgrounds for the flickering effect and then impose the shadows of the characters in with those backgrounds
